What can I pay myself?
Three numbers you already know. One pay number you can count on, worked out the way IssaBudget does it for every studio on it. No account, nothing saved.
How this is worked out
Your studio’s costs come out of the month first. Then a share for income tax, so April never surprises you, then what you chose to save. What is left is what the month can pay you.
The app takes a careful number: your typical month, pulled down a little by your slow ones. A good month leaves more than that, and the extra waits in a cushion. A slow month leaves less, and the cushion covers it. Either way you are paid the same.
The tax share is yours to set. Without a number from your accountant, 25% is a careful start, and a share set too low is the one that hurts, because the shortfall arrives as a bill.
